Bloodlines 12-04-2008
Yes, I started playing it again :D
Apparently it is now October in-game. It was April during the plague mission...Did it take me months to complete the mission, or does my Toreador have amnesia o_o;
I also want to mention the 'raptor in the hallway scared me for a second O:
OCTOPUS!!!! :D
Oh Shit D,:
I heard a 'growl' too when I first saw the T-Rex head...may-or-may-not have imagined it...
...
...Well...The museum staff certainly have interesting tastes >.> [and possibly may be looking for jobs 'working tthe streets'...]
I really wish I knew what the smaller article says :( [and what does that picture have to do with?]
I just felt the urge to take a screenshot from here...[Also! The clocks here have moving second-hands!]
"We see you touching all that stuff" ;_; YOU'RE RUINING MY FUN! (Then again my Toreador wonders if certain things that can be touched are more closely watched than others >;3)
It says 'hi'!
I originally tried/am trying to do this "Metal Gear Solid" style, which means shooting the cameras and then hiding for awhile...but my game seems to be glitching (my Stealth bar isn't showing-up, and I can't seem to open the door after the laser-beams...) so I will be re-trying this area tomorrow...Here is a camera that glitched so it was floating in the air, and apparently it makes a terrible hiding spot...^^;
I can't remember why I took this screenshot >.> I really do love this office though!~♥
L4Z3r B34/\/\Z!!!1 D: [I actually managed to jump through them by pressing jump repeatedly, then I noticed a panel on the wall I could hit that made them go on the fritz :D]
To be continued when I have had some sleep...
Part i
I thought the hidden room was neat and was used either as a break room or an area they were remodeling.
I jumped when I ran right smack into the Raptor as dev during my first run; much love for the museum staff. ^^ I also snuck around to stare at all of the animal exhibits before remembering I had objectives to accomplish.
The T-Rex does, in fact, growl at you when you make your way down the stairs. I thought it might have been a Malkavian event, but I re-checked with my Tremere.
*laughs* I remember the Motowhore and the WWI magazine, but not the Hooker one. (I think the two I mentioned were also in Gimble's waiting area.)
I, too, wish you could read the smaller text in Bloodlines. Maybe if you increased resolution to the highest setting and took a screenshot? I'm not sure where the moon photo's from and can't quite make out the article name beneath it.
I love the signs in Bloodlines; 'No Trespassing. Violators will be shot. Survivors will be shot again.'
I missed the Fetish Statue my first time through; I was ghosting and was afraid any broken glass would alert the guards. (For that matter, I don't think I realised I could break the glass.) It will come in handy later. :p
Shooting cameras? I never thought to try that; does it work? (You can hack into the cameras and turn them off in the security room; it's possible to sneak in there and use the computer without altering any guards just with sneaking. You might be able to get by the cameras without disabling them if you time it right.)
The museum office was nice. ^^
I hated the laser beam area. Since I was ghosting, I jumped/crouched my way through it while making great use of my quicksave and quickload keys when I kept overshooting my jumps. For what it's worth, there are at least two other ways around the laser beams.
After skimming over your comment over here (http://lady-noremon.livejournal.com/398892.html) yesterday, I started up Bloodlines to replay the museum level. You would have laughed; it was the worst I've ever played. I kept hitting my Deus Ex controls and getting confused on why my disciplines were activating when all I wanted to do was open a door and why I couldn't use multitools to deactivate cameras and override codes. I also didn't feel like taking my time to play stealthy and ended up killing at least ten guards with Blood Strike [was using my Tremere]. LaCroix would have been pissed if I had played that far.
In any case, the key for the door after the laser beams is in the room across the keycoded door that led to the hallway with the beams; it's sitting near the computer (which you can hack for the keycode) and you'll earn 1 XP when you pick it up.
However, I ran into a glitch while replaying; I dashed through the laser beams and the door still showed locked despite my having picked up the key. After killing another five guards and hacking into the computer to disable the laser beams and alarm, I discovered the same key lying on the floor near the door. No idea what happened. I doublechecked a walkthrough and the correct key is located where I described it above. Occasionally, Bloodlines won't let you proceed with your quest if you're in battle mode even if you have the necessary keys. I know I didn't have any problems with the door when I snuck through with dev.
part ii
Having just done another run-through with dev, I must revise my statement. There are two keys; the one before the coded door is the second one you'll need. The first one is in the pocket of the museum guard standing opposite the locked door. I honestly don't remember this at all from my first playthrough as I know I ghosted it. However, you don't have to attack the guard to make him drop the key; you can also daze him with a discipline (e.g., Trance, Hysteria). That said, I always triggered the alarm during my playthroughs of the last two days and it's possible that a total stealth approach bypasses the other key.
Also, none of the walkthroughs I've checked (I don't remember everything) say anything about another key, so I might have missed one in the earlier rooms.
