Jeremy and I had been dicussing nachos and I took to craving them so when I was out I bought stuff to make some. I had wanted a big bag of tortilla chips to get more than one 'feed' of them, but when I got to the aisel there was also multi-grains and Omega flax ones. I wanted to get a bag of those since I am trying to eat more fiber [taking Iron is awful for things], but the bags were smaller than what I wanted. I finally settled on a some-what larger bag of low-sodium tortilla chips.
I also did not know that we had a few tomatos left over so I made a somewhat guacamole. Avocado, red onion, tomato, garlic, tinned jalapeno peppers, and since I had not planned on making it I used a bit of dill for a herb.
These were so good O:
And there are a lot more peppers on there, but sadly the orange & yellow ones look more like the colour of the cheese.
On July 2nd as I posted, we got a new kitten. It took over a week to name him, but June decided on Nick [the name of Diane's late-husband], which was decided to be short for 'Nicolas' and further shortened to 'Nicki' [because of my love for Nicolas de Lenfant].
The kitten is 3lbs of fur, claws, and trouble.
As you can see from the picture.
He is very active and gets into a lot of things. Him and Minnow took a box of tampons, ripped it open, and flung them all over my floor. Several times. He also took my shoe, dragged it across the floor and tried to pull it into the litterbox. And when picked-up to remove him from what he is getting into he will blat. He doesn't mind being picked-up and likes to be held, but he will cry if he was being bad and he is picked-up.
The Sunday before last he was after wires/cords and I got down to get after him and when I went to get up again *BANG* I hit my head hard on a doorknob. I saw little red & white spots and couldn't steady and felt like vomiting. Wendy called my mom and got her to drive me to outpatients. They kept me there all afternoon monitoring me. I was having a lot of trouble staying awake. I tried listening to "Faith Stealer" Big Finish audioplay, eating a muffin with apple juice and talking to my mom, but I just couldn't. It was pants. They decided to send me home and for me to come back if it got worst, and that I had a mild concussion.
Tuesday I was having more trouble walking and neck pain, so my mom took me back. They made an appointment for a CT scan [the nearest hospital with one was over an hour away] and wondered why I hadn't been sent for one that Sunday as I couldn't stay awake. We went to Kentville last Thursday and had the scan [the nurse/operator had to help me because I couldn't walk well]. I haven't heard back from the results yet, but have been improving. Still get confused & have trouble concentrating and get dizzy if I over do it. I can't be on the computer for very long or watch much television, and reading is meh. I also was having trouble writing. I think I'll probably be alright by the end of this week though :] When we were in Kentville my mom and I ate at Paddy's Pub & Rosie's Restaurant. I now have an points card from them~ I like the one in Wolfville more as they have more on the menu and the décor is nicer. I had a piece delicious Irish cream cheese too~ Not that cheesecake can be anything but delcious [97% of the time] ;P
I was in my garden a lot befoe bonking my head and it has since gotten full of weeds :( But besides from that it looks marvelous~ I need to take pictures of my lilium in the next day before they wilt and such. They are gorgeous!~
Here is one from last year. This year I've been blessed by having 4 or 5 flowers on the plant~
I have also been playing "Echo Bazaar" almost daily. I am getting higher in my stats so I am having a lot more to do and see, and I have gotten a firmer grasp on my character. I really need to make a post on them. The next section of my Ambition ["Nemesis"] will be released this Friday so I am so excited. I have been thinking of making a post as a summery of the first part--"Of murder, dried rose petals, and red honey." Maybe I can make myself do so... :/
I am also following 4 of the dream stories: "Death By Water", "Is Someone There?", "A Game of Chess", and as of Friday "What The Thunder Said".
I was going to list what has been going on in each one, but I am too tired now :(
So Captain is off, ciao~♥
I also was amazed to find that one of my custom designs from a 'few' [o_o 2004!] years ago was in the Greenwood Dairy Queen's cake design cards!
I was too lazy this year to make a design, so I just looked through their cards and :D [I will try to sneak a picture someday!]
This is the recipe I used:
But I added about 50ml of cognac to it [2/3 to the batter and 1/3 to the cherry conserve]. I also only used 28oz of canned cherries, and made the remainder with cherries I pitted and boiled for a bit. I also used 2 grated Aero Dark bars for the sides, thus having a 4 layer cake.]
Today was an 'ex'-'friend''s birthday so I was happy that I had things to keep my mind off it. [As bad as I feel, I didn't even bother sending an e-mail this year or a card. I have tried sending messages and what-not, but I just have no importance. It often seems to be the case with people...]
I have started playing Echo Bazaar because of telophase . It is a very lovely premise and I am enjoying it immensely! :D I will have to make a separate post on it and my L.S. Cassius character ["a charming and keen-eyed individual of mysterious and indistinct gender"] sometime in the near future [if I remember D:]
My mom took me to Pearls in Paradise for food because she got paid today. and I have been sick to my stomach the last few days and haven't felt much like eating and I had a craving for onion rings. I loooove their food D:
I drew a little doodle with ARTRAGE this FABULOUS art program I found via the artist for Echo Bazaar. It is the best pencil-mimicker I have used so far, and I just love how well it works with my tablet :3 I hope to save enough for the Studio version :3
Anyway, I be off to bed; ciao♥
Things...have been...hectic and yet stagnate.
( on June )
( slightly on Twitter )
I want to also voice that I am an awful friend, and I just keep failing people still. I am too tired to put to words how guilty and like shit I feel for it. I just keep withdrawing more now, because I don't know how to talk.
( on WOLFVILLE ADVENTURE, 'Being Human', and sick )
BUT is is FAR TOO LATE to be up for me, and thus I will have to try to remember to post about my garden and such in the morning.
And I guess I should make a post about what I have been doing lately, since I haven't posted a real entry in over 6 weeks.
( on Twitter )
So I haven't been checking/active on LiveJournal much at all in the past few months, but I want people to know it is not about not wanting to talk to any of you! I just don't know how to go about it. I am going to start being more active around here again though, just as soon as things get a little less busy.
( on difficulty talking with text lately )
( on my phone or how I do not recommend Bell-Aliant )
( on breathing problems )
I also had a very good Christmas. I didn't over-eat this year~ Last year I ate way too much, and gained a lot of my weight back. My pants are a bit snug now, but I don't feel as bloated as I did in 2008. I ate so much because I missed most of Chistmas the year I was in college, and most of the good food that is avalible over the holidays. I got a graphics tablet, and a bunch of games [2 plus 6 months of RuneScape membership], and A LOT of Vancouver Canucks stuff. Avon had a set of NHL team glasses & bowls, so my mom got me a set of Canucks' ones. I think they are right cool~ I also got Christmas crackers this year. Last year I didn't get any, and finally got a box of party ones at Easter-time. They have become a kind of tradition with June, me, & Wendy. We open a box on Christmas Eve and on New Years' Eve :3 I like the popping sound the best, but I also love getting a real-life party hat [party hats are old, rare, and expensive items in RuneScape]
( on video-games )
( on 'Doctor Who' )
( on the #Twubquiz and mail from QI )
But I should be getting to bed now, as it is later than I planned-on, and I need to go to a doctor's appointment and then rewrite my license test. And THEN hopefully I can get back with TELUS and be settled finally.
Ciao, and I hope not to disappear for another 6 weeks loves,
Sarah A.K.A. Lady Norémon
**what I imagive Google Wave must be like, though I have yet to activate my invite for it, as I heard it is really laggy, and I don't have a lot of RAM :(
Today was the lovely day for this lovely country. For people who know me, they know that I am very proud of the fact that I am Canadian, and I love my country very much. I didn't do much today besides from cook pasta, play "Professor Layton and the Curious Village" & eat strawberry shortcake :3 [I got really down in the afternoon because some prick deleted the journal entries he had about me being awesome, and it really hurt]
AND when I Wikipedia-ed 'turducken' to make sure I spelled it right, I got to read this:
The largest recorded nested bird roast is 17 birds, attributed to a royal feast in France in the early 19th century (originally called a Rôti Sans Pareil, or "Roast without equal") - a bustard stuffed with a turkey, a goose, a pheasant, a chicken, a duck, a guinea fowl, a teal, a woodcock, a partridge, a plover, a lapwing, a quail, a thrush, a lark, an Ortolan Bunting and a Garden Warbler. The final bird is small enough that it can be stuffed with a single olive; it also suggests that, unlike modern multi-bird roasts, there was no stuffing or other packing placed in between the birds. This dish probably could not be legally recreated in the modern era as many of the listed birds are now protected species. .
WHO COMES UP WITH THIS?! Do they really need to have that much meat at a sitting?! WTF!? D:
Poor Pearson D:
Also the menu for the food being served during Obama's visit today is like a group of people decided to list every Canadian food and cram it together...
I'm not sure I mentioned it here, but I think I did on Twitter; Bonhomme is awesome.
Yep! I had a massive amount of fun at Matt's [last time I will be saying 'Matthew Doucet' to clarify]~ I ate too much junk food though and ended-up bloated and queasy feeling afterwards. If I had known his mom was bringing home Wendy's [the fastfood place] I would not have had mashed potatoes & eggs for breakie. So I had that, my tea, and a cup of hot chocolate [what has become almist like crack to me as of late...not that I do cocaine, I am just stating that it is addicting...I am addicted to Crack though :D ('specially the kind with Lestat *hint hint*)] before I went. I must say again; without graval, busrides make me sick :C [I also can't ride in backseats 'cept in vans without feeling ill]. So I was feeling rather off when I got there (I had also not slept well the night before and my blood pressure was low-feeling). So after I got owned in DMC4 (partly because I haven't played a PS3 since early June, and partly because I didn't have Automatic on), I had 1/2 a chicken pizza & 1/2 a Spicy Chicken Sandwich™ from Wendy's along with some Dr.Pepper ^^ Then for supper it was sweet&sour sauce on rice with pork (I think they were porkchops, but not too sure...), and mixed vegitables. Then when I got home I had some sweets & tea with my mom...so too much junk food for me I think (same thing happened to me in America and when xiuuxiu & fox_avenger were visiting). Anyway I wasn't feeling good so after I chatted online a smidge and picked the turkey (a task that used to gross me out when I had to handle the skeleton that doesn't now) I went to bed. It wasn't even 1am before I was asleep :O I slept in late too...
BUT YES! I fucking heart Dante! O: He is just soooooooooooooooooooo cool! *mauls* "Oh look it has wings!"
Matt & I were joking about the massive amount of belts he is wearing in DMC4 XD Then he teased me about how I want 'crazy Dante babies' *snort*
Dante's little song thing when he gets Lucifer [my favorite weapon btw, unless I learn to control Pandora's Box better ;P] is HILARIOUS!
( Dante sings about sex... )
So yes "Devil May Cry" is win~!
I also played a bit of the MGS4 demo. I gave-up after getting spotted so much though D: [also Snake looks like he is humping the ground when he crouches O:]
I also bought Matt 2 months of Members for RuneScape the condition being he had to come to clan_p_n_w and do Dragon Slayer with me :P [he used to have Members and such and is my only real-life RS friend :3] :D If I has more dough to toss-around I'd have bought him more time...oh well, maybe I'll buy him some for the Summer :P
So we chatted about RS a whoooooole crapload :P If I hadn't been feeling crappy last night we were going to do some Hunter & play Stealing Creation :( So maybe later this week...
I am going for x-rays tomorrow morning for my knee finally :O And then it is Valley Chiropractic time *heeee~* [I LOVE my massage before the adjusting ^^ (who doesn't like a massage with almond lotion?)] I then hope to finish my shopping in Greenwood! ONLY 7 DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS D: [I have to mail things too *flails and runs around*]
I must go to bed now D: I need to get-up soon...*FAILS*
Found from acexkeikai via tammylee;
I used a bowl instead because I was scared of making a mess. I also didn't have chocolate chips so I broke-up a bit of a chocolate bar [hence the peanuts].
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix
thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate
chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
It would defiantly need to be served with syrup or icecream/frozen yogert, as it is rather dense/dry.
