Through some extensive research, I have determined that Linus IS in fact derived from Unix, and Lindows (now Linspire) is a desktop environment derived from linux. and not the other way around.

Linux was developed because Linus Torvalds didn't like "Minix, a small UNIX system", and coded his own version, and called it "Linux"

I find it interesting how Linspire looks strikingly familiar to both Windows (obviously) and MacOSX (interesting). (Sarcastic "Huh.")
