My aunt said it's not a problem. She'll also pick you up from the ferry and drop you off at the Amtrak. I believe I already gave you her phone number. Her email is woodburykate [at] yahoo [dot] com
Just so you're aware, if anything changes plan-wise or you need any assistance after this Tuesday, you'll have to contact me through Kun and contact Kate directly. (It would be nice if you contacted Kate directly at least once before you came anyway, if only to verify plans; she's very nice and laid-back and is also a Buffy and Star Trek fan. I hope you get along. And she has cats. ^^)
My parents and I will pick you up from the Albany station. 5:35 PM on 24 July.
I wouldn't worry too much about booking your Amtrak ticket ahead of time. Space shouldn't be an issue and they shouldn't charge you extra if you pay the day of. When I took the Amtrak, I remember I kept asking my mum if I shouldn't book my ticket ahead of time (because I can get paranoid about things like that), but she kept insisting that I wouldn't have any problem getting a ticket right before I left and I didn't.
In short, book it ahead of time if you want the extra security (I know the feeling!), but it's not essential. Also, I'm not sure what their refund policy is, so be sure you have everything you need to cross the border first.
Don't worry about packing a lot. Just some clothes, any special medication or bath supplies you need, and cosplays if you want to bring them (which can also be worn as regular clothes :p). Pretty much anything else we can probably find/buy here if you need it. We can also do laundry for you.
